Classic Car News: Top 10 Police Cars From Around The World
High speed chases, busy streets and out of control criminals are all things the police have to deal with on a day to day basis, which is why they need power and speed to keep up with such a demanding pace. The Telegraph website reports that "from a Ferrari to a Smart Car, police forces around the world are spoiled for choice for fast cars when it comes to patrolling their patch".
There is fierce competition for the world's fastest police car with the "Italians and Germans vying for the title", according to the Telegraph. Up until now the police "prix d'or" has been held by a Lamborghini Gallardo, which an "Italian police patrol is using on the Salerno-Reggio highway". This superb car is capable of hitting a top speed of 192pmh, which is ample to keep up with the most reckless of motorists.
The Germans however have other ideas about the type of vehicle needed to outrun rogue road users, and have incorporated the Brabus CLS Rocket in their fleet. Rocket by name, rocket by nature; the Brabus has a twin-turbo SV12 S engine, which combines "maximum power with exquisite running smoothness and maximum environmental friendliness", according to ConceotCarz.com.
Other countries that can boast having the addition of a super fast car in their fleet include the USA, where cops in South Carolina can be seen cruising around in a Dodge Viper, which has incredible straight-line performance, handling and quality. Austrian police patrol the streets in a Porsche 911, after results proved that the countries motorists are "reluctant to take them on", reports the Telegraph.co.uk.
Britain can show it can keep up with European competition for the world's fastest police car, with the likes of Sussex Police Force's latest recruit – a 148mph Lotus Exige. "Dressed in full police uniform and with a set of flashing lights on the roof, it is Britain's fastest police car and can hit 60mph in only 4.1 seconds", according to Carsuk.msn.com. Boy racers across the country should be shaking in their driving boots, with this £35,000 cop car that can keep up with most supercars cross-country. Although this super speedy automobile would be great to creep up on unexpected speeding motorists, the idea behind having this addition is to encourage young people to drive responsibly and safely.
British police cars might not be the fastest, but the four Smart Cars used by Scotland Yard are the "greenest with the lowest carbon emissions", according to the Telegraph website.

How Can I Find Vintage Germany Beads in Bulk?

How do I find vintage germany, austrian, czech beads both glass and plastic in bulk?
Alibaba and Tradekey are no help.
I don't want to buy of Etsy etc
I want to find out where the Etsy/Ebay sellers get their stock. I have trawled and trawled the internet and it seems the only place to buy these vintage beads is America, I am in the UK and it seems silly to buy Vintage European beads from the US.
I would be eternally grateful if anyone could help me.

Unfortunately, it's very very hard to find "vintage" beads in bulk these days, and worse is that for some reason the UK and Europe are the absolute worst places to find them. Most vintage bead wholesalers (even a rare few retail vintage sellers such as myself) spend years combing through "estate" sales and foreclosed craft companies to find a even just a few lucky catches (hence why anything "vintage" usually costs more than their "modern day" counterparts).
I got very lucky a few years ago at such a sale - I came across an old arts and crafts warehouse down near Miami that was scheduled for demolition and the bank who'd foreclosed the place held a public auction for everything inside, including loads of vintage beads to my joy! I bought what I could (nearly 2,000$ worth whew!) but to my dismay I found when I got home that there was hardly any info on where they were from or even what companies made them; only 1 name was printed on several of the bags - L'Dacal, W Germany - but after 2 years I've found almost nothing on them ugg!
At any rate, I think that the reason American's seem to have more luck (I'm a fellow Brit by the by though living in the US currently) with vintage/antique bead bulk sales is because during the 1920s (flapper era) up to even the 70s there was a huge upswing for beads of all types for just about everything from shoes to clothes to hair, especially the acrylic/lucite over glass as they were easier and cheaper to get from overseas. Unfortunately though that was also their downfall, because they were "cheap" they were just as quickly thrown to the trash bins. Who knew 30 years ago those same beads would be so desired today eh? If I'd known then what I know now ... whew, I'd have kept all those beads from my childhood lol!
Eeps! So sorry this got long but hopefully it answered your question a bit. I know it gets very disheartening but don't give up, just when you think you'll never find anything, there they'll be. I'd recommend for now to keep an eye on the local UK news ads, I once found a treasure trove of antique beads/sequined items at an estate sale outside London. I know I'm bad here but I used to comb the obits page to see who'd passed along and who's family was holding public auctions of the relative's items, but my oh my it was worth it! As for me, I do have several types of vintage beads for sale (mainly lucite/seeds) at very resonable cost and I'd be glad to ship to you at a flat rate fee too.
