How do I stop a tree stump from growing?
I have a tree growing through my deck. I did this on purpose for natural shade. I have decided to cut down the tree and would like to keep a three foot high stump. I don't want to damage my deck, but would like to stop the stump from growing. The bottom four inches of the base of tree are under deck. I don't want any growth coming from side or top of stump. I may make a table out of it. Not sure how to stop it from growing?
