Taking down the tree
This time rolls around yearly when it's finally time to put up the holiday decor and make your home as it usually is once again . I always feel a small bit sad when I start this task that is much less invigorating than setting it up. However, this is actually a crucial time in organizing and setting your house up for the coming year. If you don't store things away in an organized fashion, chances are that they will just get more chaotic and disorganized every year . Here are a couple of ideas to keep your transformation from winter wonderland to some form of normality, organized. This transformation also becomes crucial if you are planning on putting your house on the market or it already is on the market. People do not want to see that you don't have anywhere to stash your Christmas stuff either. Show them how organized it can be and it is guaranteed to impress! First, make sure you have a solid box to keep things in. I use a big rubbermade container to make sure that it won't desinigrate or fall apart while in storage. Cardboard boxes can be destroyed by various insects and rodents, dampness, or really anything. So, choose something that will hold up well in varying conditions. Next, try to label your containers so that when you are looking for such and such item you will not have to tear through all the boxes to find it, essentially making your problem worse . If you really want to put some time into it, make a detailed list of each item in the box, laminate it and tape it on top of the container. It also helps if you keep things of a similar category together. Last, take the time to organize your boxes/containers in order of importance or projected future need. If you know you're going to need something that you stack all your winter boxes in front of, it is going to be much harder and more inconvenient to find later. Take a little extra time when you do this and you will be glad you did later. These things really do not take a ton of extra time when you are putting things away. It is simply a matter of being smart about it! Be smart about your homes and take a look at ours on College Station Real Estate or Austin Homes .
