Tanning Bed Goggles
I know summer is coming and before it's here, I love to go tanning so I don't burn. So, where are my tanning bed goggles? Over the years I have collected many different kinds of eyewear. I started out using the goggles that have the strap and look basically like a mini pair of sun glasses. I felt very comfortable in these except the line of white over the bridge of my nose and white circles around my eyes. This tempted me to take them off for the last couple of minutes of tanning.
The manufacturers seemed to also be aware of this. They since have come out with other types of eyewear that are placed individually on each eye. No bar over the bridge of your nose. They come in all sorts of colors. I thought it would be funny if I got green. My kids love to play with these and pretend to be Kermit the frog. My teen aged daughter likes to wear them when she is sunning on our back deck. Many companies have come up with several ideas on this type of style.
I have bought from several. They have brands such as...Sunnies, podz, peepers and winkease. The peepers and wink-ease are a little different than the goggles. A lot of tanning salons let you have a pair when you forget your own eyewear. These are little sticky UV blocking paper that you put on your eyes. It blocks out 100% of the UV rays.
The UV rays are precisely why we use the goggles in the first place.
It is so important to protect your eyes from these damaging rays. Many years ago when I first started tanning I didn't understand why we needed to wear these little plastic goggles. I've learned from the great information the tanning salons provide you with when you tan. By not wearing this special eyewear you can damage the retina in your eye and it can cause cataracts to skin cancer. We protect our eyes because the skin over your eyelid is very delicate and is not made to keep out that amount of UV rays. When you do not wear the protective glasses your skin develops a tan on your eyelid in effort to provide you with defense against the harmful rays.
Most tanning salons will provide you with this information and will also provide you with some type of temporary eyewear for protection. It is illegal not to wear goggles in the tanning beds. So they usually ask if you have any eyewear.
I also want to note to all those who wonder why would you then subject yourself to the tanning bed in the first place. Many people are Vitamin D deficient and 1 session in a tanning bed is equal to 100 glasses of milk. Then there are those of us who tan in moderation for vacations, before a big event, or winter blues. As for others it just makes them feel good and they love the way they look.
Wearing the protection for your eyes will alleviate any damage to your eyes and you will have a beautiful golden brown tan. Now, I'm still on the search for my froggy green tanning bed goggles. I don't want to burn this summer!

Is tan, red, and green a good color combination?

I'm painting my bedroom. I would like to know if three walls in a very light tan and one in a light red ("choral bronze") with sage-y green accents (rug, bedding etc) would look good?
Also, would it still look ok if used these colors and left the ceiling and trimming white?
I would say get rid of the green also. If you need to have a feature wall I would suggest either a darker tan or a lighter one, depending on how big your room is. Other options are in colouring if you have to have these colours are below or 3 different colour combinations....it REALLY depends on what you would like and your circumstances and really what your tastes are....

Beige-chocolate-cream
I'm drawing a blank now but neutrals are safe and hen you can always go all out on your favourite colours!! It would be an idea to keep the ceilings white so you don't get overwhelmed with colour. All the best and good luck
